Wildfires are an unfortunate reality of living here. 2020 was an eye opener for us all and showed our need to take steps to protect our community.
Education
Wildfire mitigation does not need to be complicated. We will be providing proven techniques to better protect your home. We are gathering the information you need so you can find it all in one place. See our Learn More section for resources and our Events page to read about our educational event.
Mitigation Work
Our greatest tools to protect our neighborhood are knowledge and mitigation. By creating the mitigation zones around each home, we can help to fortify our neighborhood. Each lot that is properly zoned helps to protect every home around it. By making our neighborhood fire ready we can help protect homes and lives.
The Future
Sadly, wildfires are going to be an everyday threat in Colorado. By planning for the future, we can make small changes to help the outcome. We hope that someday this project will be greater than HLE and will be all of Milner Mountain and maybe further. As Coloradoans our greatest strength is working together. Thanks to our volunteers we can keep this movement going and help protect our area.
